JOHN LARKIN

Trained and taught in Liverpool before moving to Norwich. A painter and photographer he wrote that his main interest was painting, experimenting with a selection of materials to create a 'surface' which has some elements to be found in landscapes. John used photography as a useful way of recording surface features found in nature and man-made circumstances sucha s derelict areas and building sites.

He aquainted himself with digital photography and realised the potential use of digital imaging to create altogether different treatments of images with the emphasis on abstract forms. The final compositions are achieved by a process of montage in order to create, what is effectively a finished monoprint.
